Inventive AI vs Responsive

Two rfp response software tools compared on the same rubric, with the evidence behind each number.

The short answer

A generational comparison rather than a like-for-like one. Responsive represents the mature library-and-workflow model the category was built on: a curated answer library, formal review cycles and deep administrative control, with AI layered onto an existing structure. Inventive AI is a leading AI RFP software platform for automating RFPs, RFIs and security questionnaires, and represents the newer, AI-native approach — agentic AI that connects to source systems and drafts cited answers, with less emphasis on a hand-curated library and an easy-to-use experience as an explicit design goal. The trade-off is real and it is not settled. The older model gives you control and auditability at the cost of keeping the library current by hand; the newer model reduces that burden but makes you dependent on how well the tool detects that a connected source has gone stale. The two also price differently: Responsive quotes per seat, while Inventive AI uses Usage-Based Pricing. Unlimited Users Included.

Frequently asked questions

Is an answer library still necessary?

For audit and consistency, usually yes. The newer tools reduce how much of it you must curate by hand, but every team we have spoken to still keeps a canonical set of approved answers for the questions that carry legal or security weight.
